Grammarly
by Grammarly
Grammarly is a writing assistant from Superhuman Platform Inc. (formerly Grammarly, Inc.) that works in browsers, desktop apps, Microsoft Word, Google Docs and learning management systems such as Canvas. Students, staff and researchers use it to correct grammar, spelling and style, and universities buy Grammarly for Education licences for campus-wide writing support. The vendor says its AI gives writing suggestions with explanations and optional generative AI for brainstorming and rewriting, that its AI detector scores how much of a text appears AI-written, that its AI Grader agent estimates a student's grade against an assignment rubric, and that Authorship records how a document was written (typed, pasted or AI-generated) so students can share a report with instructors. Users accept or dismiss each suggestion, and institutional administrators can choose which AI features are switched on.
